SRES FRIDAY FLYER April 6, 2016

"One Band-One Sound!"

SMORE News for the Weekend...

Staff,

Justin and I are so impressed with the instructional changes we are seeing in our building—the creative learning environments are amazing!

Your classroom, like most, represents an amazing kaleidoscope of individuals with unique backgrounds, experiences, interests, and dreams. Our students bring to the classroom a variety of languages, cultural traditions and practices, expectations and beliefs, skills, and interests. As you consider the challenges you may face with instructing and reaching all learners, consider this--as we shift our traditional content and instructional practices, to becoming facilitators of learning through a creative pedagogical (creative teaching, creative learning, and teaching for creativity) approach to instruction, the level of rigorous instruction is increasing as the motivation and engagement of students rises! In our school, rather than sit back and listen to the teachers do most of the lecturing about what they think students should learn, students in your classrooms are actively participate and taking responsibility for their own learning! Thank you again for all you do—you all are moving full STEAM ahead to achieve our mission—SRES ignites Success Through a creative Environment with an Achievement Mindset!

Also, please note the addition of embedded links in this weeks Friday Flyer. These links will [hopefully] offer a more user-friendly view to calendars as well as linking important documents to the Flyer. Thank you Lisa, for providing feedback so that we can improve our Flyer.

Enjoy the weekend!

Patty and Justin
