General attributes are important to an employer, as they help them see how you are at planning is an important attribute to have as it shows you can complete work in a set time. Organisational skills is another important attibute to have as it shows that you , time management is a good attribute to have as it shows to the employer that you can complete multiple tasks at the same time. Team working is an important skill to have as it allows you to share ideas and discuss how to about the task at hand. Having verbal skills is important as it allows you be able to communicate with others and numeracy is another important skill to have as it allows you to communicate in a different way. Written communication skill is a very important skill to have as every employer looks for this and it allows you to communicate in various ways e.g emails, letters and instant messages. Another skill to have is creativity as in thinking of ways to save the company money and time this will help you progress further up the company.
Being determined and motivated to do your work and to finish the work that has been set out is are good attributes to have, also being dependable is a good skill to have as it shows to your employer that you can be trust worthy. Independents is a good attitude to have as it shows the employer that you can work on your own with minimal help form others. General communication skills
Body language is important in a conversation if you have poor body language it could show that yo are not interested in what their trying to explain, so it is always important to have good body language so it looks like your listening and interested in what their saying. Negative language can stop or interrupt a conversation which could cause people to lose interest in the conversation, positive language is an important skill to have as it will encourage people in their work and make them try a bit harder. verbal exchanges is an important skill to have as it will help you verbally exchange information with others in a clear way. Signing is another important skill to have as it allow you communicate to in multiple ways and to people with hearing difficulties. Also lip reading is another important skill to have as it allow people with hearing difficulties to understand the conversation at hand. Use of intonation is important as skill as it will engage the audience e.g someone speaking in a monotone/boring way it will not engage the audience, but speaking dramatically will engage the audience.
Active engagement is important as it shows others that your listening and understanding what's going on e.g nodding shows that your listening and understanding the conversation your having. There are other types of active engagement e.g paraphrasing, it allows you to explain things that you've heard before but in your own words. Also summarising is another active engagement, it's were you shorten the explanation of something.
Communicate in writing
Being able to structure a letter and emails correctly can improve the communication between the company and client. Spelling is important as it could cause difficulty when reading and grammar is also important as it can make the reader not understand what your trying to say. Proofreading is important as it will help reduce the amount of errors you make when writing letters and emails. The use of emoticons should be limited to informal messages to other employees that you know well, if they were used in messages to managers or higher up's it would be unprofessional. When using fax it is important to keep all calls and messages professional and have the correct information. When writing an email it is always important to keep it relevant to the point that your trying to get across, it is the same with writing a letter. Note taking is very important as in taking notes will help you understand the task and help you later on in the task and to help others.
Barriers that effect communication
Background noise is a common barrier to effective communication, as it becomes harder to hear the conversation your having and it can also lead to you being distracted and lower level of work being done, to overcome this problem you could.
Distractions is another common barrier to effective communication as it will stop , to reduce distraction whilst having a conversation you should keep the conversation as lively as possible and keep it interesting.
Physical barriers is the location difference you have to travel to or use a type of technology to communicate which could slow the conversation as they'll need time to type their reply, to over come this barrier set a reasonable location where they can talk or use the phone or skype video call.

lack of concentration can stop a conversation progressing further, this could be coursed by background noise, distractions and lack of knowledge. To reduce this happening you could keep the conversation as lively as possible and keep it interesting, you could also keep the area quiet
lack of knowledge can be a barrier that can effect conversations, if the person your having a conversation with has a lack of knowledge about the subject can make the conversation slow, to reduce this happening you could try to keep the tech talk to a minimum and try to explain what you say.
Disability is another barrier that can effect communication, if someone your trying to talk to is deaf is can stop the conversation altogether, to over come this barrier you could learn to sign.
