Memorial Update
June 5, 2023
June 5, 2023
Dear Families,
The weekend was such a difference from the end of last week weather-wise, and only in New England are you wearing shorts and a tank top one day and then a winter coat the next. I won't complain about the cooler weather while we are still in the school building, though, as it allows us to keep kids focused for just a little bit longer!
We have been busy working on making some moves and doing some hiring over the past few weeks. We are excited to be adding an additional first grade and an additional second grade classroom to Memorial for the 23-24 school year. These crucial positions will bring our class sizes down in two grades that have been growing rapidly. We are hiring a new teacher for grade two, and we are excited to welcome Mrs. Renee McDowell back to first grade after a several year leave of absence to raise her children. We are also in the process of hiring an additional special educator to work primarily in our preschool classes and hope to have that person on board in the coming week. We are also making some classroom moves this summer to bring all of our Spanish Immersion classes back into the same area as our English classrooms, and to accommodate the growth in our building. It is certainly going to be a busy summer for our custodial crew!

Warmly,
Lauren and Wendy
