Opera Night a Great Success

Thursday night, January 22nd, a number of students from the GT program at Hill Country and West Ridge attended the Austin Lyric Opera's final dress rehearsal of Romeo & Juliet. The evening was a tremendous success, and we were very proud of our students.

There are many to acknowledge for their assistance in making the evening successful. Staff members Erin Barbier, Sarah Yurko, Laura Haneman, and Matt Beebe were gracious enough to assist Ms. Hanna with the evening. Thank you so much to Nadine Herbst, Paul Schuster, Tish McKernan and Emily Roberts for helping serve food for our students' dinner. Thank you as well to Bruno Zucca, Susan Michalski, Sydney Barosse, Kim McMath, Will McNamara, Tish McKernan, and Emily Roberts for attending the opera with us.

Several items (shoes, clothes, a Banana Republic garment bag) were left last night and are currently in my room. Please encourage your students to come retrieve them.

Passion Project Information (Spring Semester Independent Study)

This week in class students were given "Pathway to Passion: 2015 Student Passion Project Guide." This guide contains information about the Spring Passion Project independent study, including due dates for key components. A copy of this guide can be found on the Passion Project page of Ms. Hanna's website.

A number of students failed to take the guide with them when they left class.
