First semester ended on January 26th for RSD Elementary Schools. Report Cards will be sent home with student on Wednesday February 1st. Be sure to check your student's backpack! You can also check your ParentVue account to see the report card online.

Dental Screenings

Dental Screenings

Advantage Dental will be providing free dental screenings and dental hygiene services for our students on Monday, February 27th and Tuesday, February 28th.


If you would like your student to opt out of the screening, please let Nurse Stephanie know via phone or email by Wednesday, February 22nd.


Advantage Dental will be offering the following services to our students:

Fluoride Coating

Sealant

Silver Fluoride

Antiseptic for the Teeth (Iodine)

Protective Restoration

Teledentistry


To take advantage of any of these services, a separate consent form is required (this was also embedded in your online verification and/or registration), please let Nurse Stephanie know if you would like a consent form.

It doesn't matter whether absences are excused or unexcused, each missed day represents missed learning time. Missed days add up quickly. When a student misses a few as two days a month, that is 10% of the school year. This increases the risk of academic and

social-emotional struggles.

  • Children who are chronically absent in kindergarten and 1st grade are much less likely to read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade?


  • Chronic Absenteeism can occur when students miss a day or two every few weeks.


  • Attendance is an important life skill that will help your child graduate from high school and keep a job.

Smarter Balance Testing

Smarter Balance Testing

Grades 3-5 will participate in Smarter Balance Testing. The testing window opens in March, more information will be sent home as the testing dates are scheduled. Help your student by making sure they are getting plenty of rest, eating a health breakfast, and are at school everyday and on time! The school day begins at 8:45am.
