Action Items: Goals before Spring Break
Goals for the two weeks before Spring Break:
1. All classrooms have a Plot Map for the Cleo book posted (see Barbara's email or work with Barbara for more info including models).
2. Compliments Blitz including passing out compliments and reviewing the PBIS slogan (Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful) and the matrix of behavior expectations at different settings in the building. Morning Meetings and Closing Circles are a great time to do this.
3. Plan, plan, plan. Overplan. Keeping students engaged in worthwhile work keeps them learning and reduces instances of disruption and this is especially important before Spring Break.
4. DSA Administration in grades 1-5 and PALS Quick Checks in K-2 (see info from Barbara)
5. Benchmark assessments and data review in grades 3-5-begin responding to the data as soon as the students finish their assessment
Benchmark Testing
Grades 3-5 will be taking Benchmark Testing the next two weeks. Please look for signs and try to avoid walking by those classrooms and be especially quiet near if you walk near them.
Students do best when the adults around them are calm and composed and the atmosphere for testing is serious and focused.

Compliments Blitz
We will have a Compliments Blitz for the two weeks before Spring Break and the two weeks after Spring Break.
What is a compliments blitz
1. Pass out compliments frequently
2. Take time to review the Sanford PBIS Matrix in Morning Meetings or Closing Circles. These include our slogan (BE SAFE, BE KIND, BE RESPECTFUL) and the locations that the matrix covers (cafeteria, hallway, bus, computers, recess) (see the attachments that Aerika Marx and PBIS send to guide these classroom conversations).
3. Write our slogan: BE SAFE, BE KIND, BE RESPECTFUL (prefer written on tv screen, if not you can do window, but it should be written in window crayon in each classroom)
below is an example of the Restroom Matrix (can you find the mis-spelling)
