Greenwich Free Library

Staff and Volunteer newsletter

What have you done for us lately? Everything!

At this year's New York State Library Association (NYLA) conference, in addition to learning a lot, I once again had the opportunity to think about how wonderful the staff, trustees and volunteers at the Greenwich Free Library really are. While other Directors were complaining about disinterest, micromanagement, irritability, laziness and bad social skills, I was able to reflect on how friendly, helpful, willing and supportive you all are; both out in public and behind the scenes. It is because of all of you that we are a thriving and dynamic part of the community with a great future ahead of us. Once again, I thank you all. - Annie

Volunteers at Work

Can't get enough? More volunteer opportunities at these fun events.

Wines of Washington County - This Saturday from 2-6 pm. I could use some help around noon and six for setup/cleanup. It would be great to have a couple of people around during the event to direct traffic and replenish snacks. I am planning to bribe volunteers with wine, if that makes it more attractive.

Sunday STEAM - Nov 15, 2-3 pm Great Grains / December 13, 2-4 pm Hour of Code

Help with hands-on family projects that bring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math to life.

Family Game Event- Nov 21, 3-6 pm Come a little early/ stay a little late for setup/cleanup. Assist our game master and players during the event.

Art with Elizabeth Cockey - Dec 12, 12-3 Come a little early/ stay a little late for setup/cleanup. Keep artists supplied while they work. Create your own masterpiece.

Boxwood Centerpieces - Dec 3, 6-8 pm Come a little early/ stay a little late for setup/cleanup. Keep artists supplied while they work. Create your own masterpiece.

Board and Committee places available in 2016

A lot of what makes the library possible happens behind the scenes. Please consider joining the Board of Trustees or one of the Board Committees to help with important tasks like project planning, policy creation, fundraising and more. Our meetings are short, friendly and productive.
