Ericson Weekly Update
January 18-22 Long Distance Learning Update
Superintendent's Weekly Message
Hello Sea King Families,
Thank you, students, and parents, for being flexible as we worked through our first week back together with brand new daily schedules.
This Monday, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his important contributions as an advocate for Civil Rights. There will be no school. We will resume classes on Tuesday at 9:00AM. Please call the school if your child will be absent or late for any period of the day.
We will begin I-Ready testing this week. Students take this diagnostic to determine progress and to support teacher instructional planning. It is very important that you do not assist your child on the test in any way once they are logged in. If you are concerned that your child does need assistance to complete the test, please contact your child's teacher for support.
The District is hosting several virtual community town hall meetings as we begin to develop next school year’s financial budget. For parents in our region, that virtual meeting is being held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 6:00 pm. Parents can access the link to the virtual meeting by visiting www.fresnounified.org. If you are unable to attend the virtual meeting, we encourage you to complete the online survey on the district website.
We hope to see you at our 1st semester awards assembly this Thursday! 5th/6th meet at 2pm on Teams, 1st/2nd with meet at 2:30, and 3rd/4th will meet at 3:00pm. Please have your student log in to Teams and click on the awards ceremony in their calendar to join the assembly.
We will continue 3rd quarter materials distribution for students this week. Kindergarten and First grade students will need to return their Wonders Reading books to the school to exchange for new books. If you did not get the chance to pick up your student's supplies, please do so this week. We will be open from Tuesday-Friday, 8:15-4pm. To provide a safe environment for the distribution, we ask that only one person comes onto site to pick up materials. For safety, you must wear a mask, and maintain 6 ft. social distancing during pick up. If you are feeling sick or have been in close contact with anyone that has been ill, please call our Sea King Hotline to request to have your child's supplies delivered to your home.
Thank you for working with us and being part of our Sea King Team. Please call our Sea King Hotline at 253-6450 or email us at Ericsonelementary@fresnounified.org if you have questions or if you need to clear your child's absences.
Our office will now be open for parents by appointment only on Mondays through Thursday. On Friday, our office staff will be available to assist you by phone only. When visiting the campus for any reason always wear a mask and practice social distancing for the health and safety of our employees and our community.
