Winter 2023
Happy New Year!
The new year always brings about new optimism. I'm terrible at resolutions, though. Fortunately, I have had several mentors and colleagues who have influenced me. During one of the courses I took in the district where I was teaching I learned about one word. It's where you select a word, that's right, just one word, to help frame the work you do and guide the decisions you make throughout the year. It's a focus on being a certain way, rather than on doing something.
Mine this year is "connect." I hope to connect with the many folks who work in the arts and in education throughout the state and beyond. On that note, if we haven't connected, please get in touch with me.
Choose a word that speaks to you and is simple to remember.I invite you to choose your one word and share it with me and your friends and colleagues! One word has helped me to get in the frame of mind that I need for the year. If you're bad at resolutions, like I am, try one word for yourself in 2023. -Cody
