A Message from Danielle Patterson, Interim Head of School
Dear Chartwell Community,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer with time to relax and recharge as we prepare to start the new school year in just six weeks. This is the first of many communications you will receive in the weeks ahead prior to our first days of school on August 15, 2022 (High School) and August, 16, 2022 (Lower & Middle School).
Here is a link to our 2022-2023 School Calendar.
The Summer Session at Chartwell ends tomorrow. We had 80 students on campus this summer who all demonstrated growth and learned so much over their four weeks with us. Many of the students who joined us for the summer will be continuing with us in the fall.
We are excited to welcome nearly 35 new families into our learning community and over 20 new faculty members. In the coming weeks, each of the new team members will be highlighted in the BARK. Throughout the last year, we intentionally listened to family, student and teacher input in order to realign and expand our resources to best support our students and team. These resources will further enhance our academic, social-emotional and athletic programs as well as bolster support in our business office.
I am currently at the National Association of Independent School Conference for New Heads in Atlanta and then will be on vacation with my family from July 20th-26th. When I return on Wednesday, July 27th I will answer any emails received in my absence. If you have any immediate concerns, please reach out to Elena Mueller, Director of Advancement and Communications, at emueller@chartwell.org.
I am honored to be embarking on this journey with this community and value your positive energy and dedication to the work we do at Chartwell.
All my best,
Danielle Patterson
Interim Head of School
