Pk4.1 News Trees
Abiyoyo
Dear Parents,
This week have been focusing on the characteristics of trees that we find in our community. The children have had a chance to look around their school and home environment seeking to identify similarities and differences among the trees they have observed. They come to notice specific attributes and are learning to identify some parts of the trees like leaves and trunks.
The children have been exposed to a variety of learning experiences in class were they have been able to sort and classify leaves and seeds. This also leading to several counting experiences of these natural elements. They had had the opportunity to build puzzles, identify and create shapes and build letters.
There have been several songs that they have learned about trees and their parts. We read some very interesting stories like for example: Abiyoyo, The tree parts
We would like to thank you for taking the time to send in some leaves, seeds and branches for us to use in class. You may continue to do so for the rest of the unit if you find anything interesting your child would like to share.

Who Lives in Trees?
Bringing Literature to Life
Parents,
During the month of March we will be celebrating “Bringing Literature to Life”. To celebrate our joy for books we will have different activities that will motivate children to enjoy the pleasure of reading. Some of the activities will include mystery readers, book buddies and so many more.
We would like to invite you to join the Month of “Bringing Literature to life” by doing the following:
· Mystery Reader: If you wish to come and read a book to the class, talk to your teacher to set up a date and time.
· Daily Reading: read a short story or book to your child before going to bed. Each Friday they will have a chance to bring and show their favorite book of the week to the rest of the class.
If you have any questions, please contact your teacher via email.
