Tuscan Tidings
Newsletter, Issue 1, Vol. 14 | 01.27.21 [New Photo 02.01.21]
Dear Tuscan Family~
The Tuscan Tidings is intended to be an upbeat read to highlight the amazing work of Tuscan students and teachers however; there are times when the realities of these extremely challenging times can be acknowledged.
If you find yourself dealing with disillusionment or struggling to stay positive a suggestion is to find comforting ways to make it through these challenging times. To help you get started, get cozy and leisurely enjoy the guidance offered in the January 25, 2021 edition of the Montrose Messenger.
We encourage you to make a commitment to do one small comforting thing for yourself and your family each day.
Know that we welcome parent involvement and your voice is important to us. If you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of your child’s Tuscan experience, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or ROARforTuscan@somsd.k12.nj.us.
All best wishes for keeping your heads up and attitudes hopeful.
~Ms. Majeed
It is so very important to be able to calm our minds and our bodies. Focusing on our breath can also have positive effects on our body and mind. It is also extremely helpful to be in touch with and process our feelings.
We have some activities for families to enjoy together while strengthening their physical, mental and emotional health.
Deep Belly Breath
Place your right hand on your belly and your left hand on your chest. Take a deep breath in
for four counts then exhale through your nose for four counts, with your lips closed. Feel
the rise and fall of your chest and belly. If you’re on your back, you could place an object,
like a stuffed animal, on your stomach to help you feel (and see) the rise and fall of your
belly. Do this deep belly breathing for a few minutes.
Pause Breath
Moving forward .......If Your Child is Assigned to Hybrid...
If your child is assigned to hybrid and you now wish for your child to remain all virtual please email your child’s teacher and TuscanASAP@somsd.k12.nj.us .
