BARBARA HAVENS 2018-2020 ARCHIVES
Barbara Havens - Gamma Kappa President 2018-20
Gamma Kappa Historian (2018-20) Carol Williams presented the 2018-20
Archives to Barbara in December 2020. She was hoping to give it to her
at our “tea party” which has not occurred yet but thought it best to pass it
on while Barbara has plenty of time to peruse through it. Carol enjoyed
compiing it for Barbara, who revitalized our chapter and took us to
The Seven Pearl Status!
Many Gamma Kappans are featured in the book which Barbara will bring to
the next REAL meeting we have………………………..
WHITE FRAGILITY BOOK DISCUSSION
Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity and Inclusion
Conway Blankenship and Kathy Craft are reading White Fragility and participating in the book discussion for the month of January and two weeks into February. The purpose of this reading/discussion is to provide a safe place for communicating our stories, questions, and insights on a topic most want to avoid but is necessary for us to move forward as humans. We reflect on how we view and treat each other in our neighborhoods, places of work, society, and our world--as well as A∆K members. We examine ourselves not only for self-awareness but also to make intentional adjustments in our daily lives as we encounter others whose stories are different than ours but not less important or less valued. Looking in the mirror is often disturbing but needful.
