Team:
Another great week is in the books! As the admin team continues the walkthroughs and provides feedback, we are seeing some really great things happening in the classroom. I urge you to continue to look for ways to engage students on a high level.
Per our definition, student engagement comes through an intentional act by the teacher to design lessons which lead to active participation by the students. There are an unlimited ways in which this can manifest...find what works for you and your classroom.
Thursday we will be visited by the Region 14 instructional rounds group. This will be a group of administrators and teachers who are observing our classrooms and looking for evidence of student engagement. Don't plan anything special. The more "normal" this day is the more we will learn about ourselves. No one is being evaluated...we are simply seeking feedback for practices which lead to engagement and ways in which we can continue to foster that academic environment. Also, no tests on this day. If there is no other time for you to test please let me know and I won't send the group to your class.
If you have any questions about the rounds, see me.
Friday is the last day of the 3 weeks...make sure your grades are up to date by the end of business Friday. Make parent contacts about any students struggling and let's encourage tutorials.
Have a great week!
Be intentional about engagement!
