Southside News
Friday, November 19, 2021 - NO SCHOOL November 24-26
From the Desk of Mr. Backmeyer...
Happy Friday! We will see you in school next Monday and Tuesday, but there will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 24 - Friday, November 26, due to Thanksgiving Break! We look forward to seeing everyone back here on Monday, November 29th.
THANKSGIVING brings about opportunities for reflection...and I am grateful for this! Do I always stop to take a moment and be grateful or thankful? Not as often as I should! I typed in "thanksgiving quotes" into Google, as I prepared this Southside News this week and these two resonated with me:
- “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” — Oprah Winfrey
- “Gratitude can transform common days into Thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” — William Arthur Ward
I also found this one that made me laugh out loud! I have to share!
- “Thanksgiving, man… not a good day to be my pants.” — Kevin James
THANK YOU! I am grateful for our Southside families, our staff, and our students! It really is amazing what WE do for and with our Mustangs over the years we have them! The relationships and the efforts do make a difference! I am so proud and thankful to be your student(s) principal! Coming here each day is a blessing! May your Thanksgiving be filled with many blessings!
