Weekly Update- October 22nd, 2023

Big picture

Attendance Matters!

Our ADA (average daily attendance) rate for the week of Oct. 9th is 94.21%. The goal is 95% daily. It is so important that students are at school and on time. The state department factors in our attendance data for our school report card.

Remember, 1st block begins at 8:25am. Students must be in their 1st block class at that time. Please adjust your arrival time accordingly. We see several students coming in after the 1st block start time. First block is our "skinny" block, which means it is a shorter block. The block ends at 9:10; therefore, it is vital that your student is in their classroom at 8:25 ready to begin. Our doors open at 7:50am.

Students arriving after the 1st block start time must check-in through the main office.

Student Expectation Reminders

The 2nd 9 weeks continues to fly by! Please be sure to review our school-wide expectations for students. These are just a few that we wanted to highlight:

  • Keep cellphones and headphones put away during instructional time. Additionally, headphones should not be worn in the hallways.
  • Hats and sunglasses cannot be worn in the building.
  • We do not have an open campus for lunch. All students must report to the cafeteria during lunch.
  • Students are expected to be in class. We ask that our teachers limit hall passes to emergencies only.

October 24th

Tuesday, October 24th is an E-Learning day for 9th and 11th graders only. 9th and 11th graders will not report to school on this day.

10th and 12th grade students will report to school in order to take their PreACT and Workkeys Tests. These tests are required.

Gameday Reminders

Guidelines for TCS Fall Sporting Events

· Elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 18 years or older for the entire game. The parent or guardian must have a valid photo identification. Parents can no longer drop off their elementary or middle school children at athletic events on TCS campuses and pick them up afterward.

· No loitering in the aisles, ramps, entrances, hillsides, or mezzanine areas. All spectators at TCS stadiums should not stand along the fence in front of the bleachers, and all patrons should remain in their seats unless going to/from the concession stand or the restroom.

We want to ensure that all patrons/visitors can enjoy the game, and we don’t want to impede the view of those coming to enjoy the game. Also, we want to ensure the safety of all students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members who are attending the athletic events.
