Zoo Lights #2
Saturday, Jan. 2nd 2016 at 5:45pm
6200 Hermann Park Drive
Houston Zoo Lights is an annual event held by the Houston Zoo. Each night, a different group is chosen to sing for the guests. We will be singing a total of 3 different nights this season.
All students must provide their own transportation to and from Zoo Lights.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS PERFORMANCE
Admission & Tickets
Participation is FREE for choir members. Any choir member that is going to participate will receive a wristband at school the day of the event (this is different than in previous years).
If your child is going to attend, it is required you sign them up here so they will get a wristband. Wristbands will not be available onsite.
Anyone that is NOT a choir member must purchase an admission ticket to enter.
IMPORTANT! Please note you must purchase an admission ticket to enter Zoo Lights for this performances!
**Anyone that is NOT a choir member must purchase an admission ticket to enter. Zoo Members cannot use their membership for admission to Zoo Lights as it is a special event.
In the past we have had a limited number of free tickets to pass out to family members before entering. That will NOT be the case this year. My recommendation is to purchase tickets online before arriving as the lines get very long.**
For all performances:
You are not required to attend Zoo Lights in order for your choir member to participate. If you would like to drop-off your child, you may do that at the check-in location. You will be asked to provide contact information so we may contact you in an emergency.
A limited number of chaperones will be required for this event. The Zoo is restricting us much more than in the past in this area. Chaperones cannot bring children other than their choir member with them.
Times for Chaperones are from 5:30 P.M. (check-in) to 8:30 P.M. (check-out).
We have been notified that the ONLY children allowed into the Green Room and staging areas will be those that are actual choir members.
The only adults allowed will be the few chaperones chosen in advance.
Limit ONE chaperone per family/choir member. All chaperones must be over the age of 21.
We will be parking in the employee parking lot, more information will come regarding this later. Once you are parked, you will proceed to the check-in area (typically near the round building with pointed roof).
Green Room & Performances
The Green room is the area we will use to warm-up, use restroom facilities, and prepare for the performance. The only people allowed in the Green Room area are choir members and verified chaperones with wristbands. All other family members and children must wait outside the Green Room Building. It is recommended you go to the reflection pond area to secure a spot to watch the performance.
We will sing 2 times each night, once at 7 P.M. and again at 8 P.M. All performances will be held at the end of the reflection pool unless otherwise noted.
After we are done singing for the 8 P.M. concert, choir members will need to check-out at the staging area near the Green Room in order to be released to their grown-up.
At the other performances, students received a Zoo Lights ticket to use at a later date. Since this performance is so close to the end of Zoo Lights, I am going to provide them with a pass to use at school instead (i.e. Free choice pass, stinky feet, lunch with a friend, etc-I have to confirm which one the teachers prefer).
If your child is attending Zoo Lights, they may NOT be checked-out between the 7:00 and 8:00 performances. They must stay for both performances in order to get the free ticket.
