Weekly Announcements

Parent Portal:

Parents, it is important to stay informed about your student’s progress. Please make sure you have created your parent portal, and checking your student’s progress on a weekly basis. Progress reports will be available on September 9th. If you have any questions and/or concerns, email the teachers. If you would like to schedule a parent/teacher conference, call 352-524-5539. Also, earlier this week you received district notification that you will receive text messages if your student is earning a grade below a “C.” It is important to make sure your contact information is up-to-date in the portal in order to get these messages. Communication is key.


Testing Information:
Attention 11th and 12th grade Pirates!

Don't forget that FSA retakes will begin on Monday, September 12th, 2022 with the Writing FSA followed by the Reading FSA. Students must sit for all 3 days to get a score. Remember passing the FSA is a graduation requirement so show up and show us what you know.

Group 1 will be for 11th graders. Testing times are 7:15 AM or 10:50 AM on Monday, September 12th, Tuesday, September 13th and Wednesday, September 14th. Group 2 will be 12th graders with a few remaining 11th graders on Friday, September 16th, Friday, September 23rd and Monday, September 26th. For your exact testing time and location, Scan the QR code rosters, check with your English teacher or visit the IRC windows to check rosters. If you have any questions regarding ELA testing, please contact Mrs. Resto, Assistant Principal.


College Night:

Mark your calendars for Monday, September 12th, 5:30-7:30pm for the Florida College Fair, being held in the Activity Center at PHS. It's the perfect time to learn about the university/college requirements and speak with the admission representatives.


Senior Parent Night:

Senior Parent Night-Reviewing the college application, Tuesday, September 20th, 6 pm in the IRC.


Boys’ Soccer:

Boys' Soccer meeting on 9/12/22. Location IRC. Time 6:30 pm. This meeting is for returning players and new players. If you have any questions, talk to Coach Grayling.


Boys’ Basketball:

There will be a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13th for anyone interested in playing boys basketball this coming season. This meeting is for boys at all grade levels. Those in fall sports that cannot attend need to let Coach Davenport know of their interest in playing basketball ASAP. The brief meeting will take place in Coach Davenport's classroom (6-017) immediately after school. The meeting should only last 30-45 minutes. Make sure to arrange transportation to get home.


USF Visit:

The admission rep from USF will visit PHS on Friday, 9/16, from 11:00am - noon, in the CRC. The sign-up form can be found on the CRC Junior and Senior Canvas Courses.


Tardy:

Parent’s, please help us encourage our students to get to class on-time. Please take a few minutes and check your student’s portal and monitor their tardies. Student’s, please make sure you are making it to class on-time. You have a total of 5 minutes between each class. Be on time, it is important!!!


Pick-up/Drop-Off:

Attention car riders, remember that all drop-offs and pick-ups are located at the front of the school. Please do not use the bus areas for pick-up or drop-off. We greatly appreciate your cooperation.


Student Parking:

Attention student drivers, remember to have your permits displayed at all times. Permits are being checked.


School Pictures:

School Pictures will be on Tuesday, October 4th. Students will take pictures through their English class. If your student takes an off-campus English class, they can take their pictures during their lunch.


Yearbooks:

Yearbook purchases can be made at YearbookForever.com


Attention all Students:

Your Student Government wants to hear from you.
Each class will have an open class meeting to discuss ideas for homecoming themes, dress up days and t-shirts.
*Seniors will meet in the COVE after school on Wed Sep 14th
*Juniors will meet after school in Ms. Bromley's room on Thursday Sep 15th
*Sophomores will meet after school in Ms. Bromley's room on Friday, Sep 16th
*Freshmen will meet in Ms. Harbour's room after school on Wed Sep 21st

Whether you are interested in taking dual enrollment courses 2nd semester for the first time or would like to refresh your knowledge on the process for dual enrollment, the place to go to get this information is the Pasco County Schools website:

Volunteer Opportunities

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dade City, is planning their Fall Festival for October 1. Father Krys is offering community service hours to any students who might want to volunteer to help in various ways with the festival. If so, they can contact the Parish Office, Claire Odobo at (352) 588-3641 or email at office@sacredheartdadecity.org.

Volunteers are needed for upcoming fall festivals in our Dade City community. Check your CRC Canvas Course or see Ms. Edwards for details.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

It is extremely important that each parent/guardian have a parent account on the MyStudent portal. This is where you will be able to access student fees, review your student's schedule, monitor absences/tardies, check grades, and email teachers.

Title 1 Information

NOTICE TO BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND PARENTS

NOTIFICATION OF INSPECTION FOR ASBESTOS CONTAINING

MATERIALS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final rule, 40 CFR Part 763, Asbestos Containing Material in schools, commonly referred to as AHERA. This rule requires all Local Education Agencies (LEA’s) to identify asbestos containing materials (ACM) in their school buildings and to take appropriate actions to control the release of asbestos fibers.

All inspections for Pasco High School have been completed and a Management Plan describing the results of the inspection and the action plan to control any asbestos found during the inspection, where applicable, has been submitted to the governor for approval. A copy of this plan is located in the administrative office of this school and at the Pasco County Schools Maintenance & Facility Services Department and is available for review upon request.
