Bus Seating Charts
As part of DoDEA’s COVID-19 school mitigation protocols, our Student Transportation Offices have created bus seating charts for our students that ride the bus. Please discuss with your student(s) the importance of sitting in their assigned bus seats and to wear their face coverings while on the bus. Where possible, we are also using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended measures such as increased spacing on buses and seating siblings together. Additionally, parents should remind students of the importance of wearing face coverings and social distancing while waiting at the bus stops.
While we recognize that the bus is an opportunity for students to relax and socialize, we have found that a lack of a seating chart could result in an entire bus to be quarantined as the contact tracing team cannot determine who was actually in close contact with an infected student. By adhering to assigned seating on the bus, we want to minimize the number of students who will need to be quarantined should there be a positive student on the bus.
Working together we can be successful in creating a safe environment for our students, staff, and families and help promote behaviors that reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Additional bus protocols and information may be found on page 56 of the DoDEA COVID-19 Operational Guidelines and Protocols for Schools, Version IV ( https://www.dodea.edu/newsroom/publications/upload/DoDEA-COVID-19-Operational-Guidelines-and-Protocols-V4-12-08-20.pdf).

Sigonella ES Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)
We are happy to announce that groups for children who have transitioned to Sigonella during the past month and for those who have plans to leave. As you know, frequent moves are one of the unique challenges that military kids face, and I have found that they like to share about this as well as to receive and give support for some of the stresses involved in leaving a familiar place and to face an unknown location.
Beginning on January 4th, we will start the groups during regular lunch times in the cafeteria. Children transitioning will be invited to take their lunch to a separate table to join the group. No child who feels uncomfortable has to stay for the whole time. Each child may attend the group for as many weeks as is helpful and enjoyable.
It is essential for us to have signed permission slips. Please complete those ASAP if you have not done so already. If you need a permission slip, let your child's teacher know. Permission slips are also available through the front office and below.
Please don't hesitate to call if I may be of help: 349-513-8411
I wish all of you a happy holiday season!
