Topic: UNICEF Services to Children Worldwide.

Hannah Wright is a Global Citizenship Fellow for UNICEF. The United Nations Children's Fund works for children's rights, survival, development and protection. Be part of our mission. UNICEF is working toward the day when ZERO children die from preventable causes and every child has a safe and healthy childhood. She will be discussing the importance of clean water, education and immunizations of children worldwide.

STAAR End of Course Retesting This Week

Students who are in need of retaking the End of Course exams for the following tests will do so this week in downstairs K Hall. Students needing to retake these tests have already been notified. If you are a student who has questions about retesting, please stop by Admin B on Monday morning.

Parents who are not sure if their student needs to take an EOC retest are encouraged to contact Jennifer Shifflet by email at or by phone at (817) 598-2858.

The senior class is selling Christmas Candy Cane Grams. For $1, you can send a candy cane and a message to someone on campus on Monday, December 14. Come by the table in the foyer at lunch this week to place your order!

International Career Day at UTA

Twenty-six WHS students joined 850 students around the metroplex for the International Career Day. Students learned information about studying abroad and jobs overseas. Did you know that college students in the United States can use scholarships, loans, and grants in a study abroad program? Check with a prospective university to see if they offer study abroad programs if you are interested.

Christmas Ornaments are back!

Weatherford High School Cheerleaders are selling Christmas ornaments to carry the ROO Pride into the Christmas season. Limited edition Christmas Ornaments are shimmery silver shatter-proof plastic with the school logo in blue. Find a WHS Cheerleader or contact to purchase a limited edition ornament to decorate your holiday tree for $10.00 each.

If you were lucky enough to purchase one last year, these will be a nice addition to your collection.
