Foothills Horizon
Winter
Principal's Corner
Dear Families,
We are so excited to start the second semester of the 19-20 school year! Our students came back from the holiday break ready to learn! Classrooms did a quick re-teaching of our Rocky Expectations and jumped right back into learning.
I’m sure you would agree, the days just seem to be flying by! One thing is constant and that is our daily reminder to our students to continue to strive to give us their, “Personal Best, Nothing Less!” We could not do what we do here without your support! Your involvement in the most little to big ways shows your child the value that you have in their education, which transfers into their daily work.
One Book Blitz planning is under way and we are so excited to see everyone at our annual Winter Blast! Please know that you are always welcome here and we are so very thankful for our high level of parent involvement. A special shout out to members of our FTO who continue to volunteer and support our teacher wish lists and on-going projects. Our continued promise to you is to provide your child with a positive and rigorous learning environment. May the New Year bring your entire family joy, peace and happiness!
With much appreciation,
Mrs. Schito, Principal

There are numerous opportunities in which to become involved during the school day.
However, if your time during the day is limited, there are other ways of supporting
Foothills. The support you give these sponsors will enable Foothills to add to their
resources in technology, equipment, library books, and instructional supplies.
FOOD CITY
Welcome to the 2019-20 School Bucks Challenge!
The program is now known as the School Bucks Challenge, emphasizing the competitive nature of the program. We are asking all parents, teachers, alumni, family and friends to link your ValuCard and help propel our school to the top of the leaderboard. The more people who support our school, the more resources we’ll receive!
Challenge Points are now awarded on a one-to-one basis. For every dollar a participating customer invests by shopping at Food City and using their ValuCard, one point will be added to Foothills’ total. Cards can be linked online at foodcity.com/schoolbucks or at the register during checkout.
This year's School Buck's Challenge runs September 4, 2019 through May 5, 2020.

Foothills received $1,260 from Kroger for our winter distribution..
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Two ways to redeem Box Tops:
1. You can still cut Box Tops from your favorite products and send them to school.
2. No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the AL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school's Box Tops earnings online.
