Ms. Monaghan's Message - May 17

Challenge, Inspire, Empower, & Serve

It's Summer Time!

I can't believe another year is behind us and another summer has arrived. This was an amazing year filled with new experiences, new traditions, and special memories. None of this would be possible, of course, without each one of you!

At the end of every year, I find it so important to take stock of things. How did the year go? In what ways were we successful? In what ways do we need to improve? My goal each year is to ensure that every single year we are stronger and better than the last. There are so many positive things happening at St. Patrick School that it's easy to get caught up in the excitement, but I know that there is always room for improvement.

Next year, we are focusing on strengthening our standards for academic excellence in all grade levels and instructional areas. Our essential question is: How do we ensure our students are prepared for the next level and what steps will we take to get them there? This question will guide us in our efforts to create a daily schedule that provides differentiated learning opportunities for all students, challenging, hands on learning, and engaging, interactive lessons.

In an effort to make those goals possible, we have hired a Full Time Inclusive Education Coordinator who will help us create individual learning plans for students. This teacher will work one-on-one with students and in small groups with students on a daily basis. She will also provide guidance to teachers are differentiating lessons in the classroom to meet the needs of every child. On top of that, we will also have a part-time Paraprofessional who will work in the classrooms. This person will coordinate with the teacher to work with individual and small groups of students in the classroom setting. These positions will create a better, more structured learning environment for our students and will allow us to create a more individualized plan for all learning styles.

We are working hard to continue living up to the mission and vision for St. Patrick School and making this the premiere Catholic school in the northland!

Congratulations 8th Grade Class of 2019!

Staff Lounge Wish

Do you have a knack for design? Do you enjoy "Trading Spaces" or "Flip This House" or "Kitchen Rescue"? Then we have a a task for YOU!

Our staff lounge is in MAJOR need of a rescue. It has become a dumping ground for "stuff" no one wants......kind of like that Island of Misfit Toys from the old Rudolph movie! Instead of being a great collaborative, restful, and useful space, it has become a source of stress and frustration and I can't take it anymore! :)

I'm looking for a few organization minded people who can see a vision for a staff lounge and help me make this vision come true! I'm what you might call a "dreamer". I'm great at dreaming up the vision, just can't quite figure out how to make it into a reality. Mostly, I really want our lounge to be a positive reflection of our school and right totally is NOT.

If you are willing to help, I would LOVE to hear your ideas and step out of the way and let you go! Please email me at if you would like to get involved!

St. Patrick School

The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
