August 15th 2022

It was wonderful to see our incoming 6th graders having a blast at our Transition Course this week! I am especially grateful for the teachers and support staff who made these days possible.
Here are some family tips for the transition from elementary to middle school:
Be familiar with our Counselors- Bernadette Van Lith (6th), bernadette.vanlith@franklin.k12.wi.us, Ellen Montenero (7th), ellen.montenero@franklin.k12.wi.us and Mindy Greco (8th), melinda.greco@franklin.k12.wi.us. Please feel free to reach out to them with any questions.
Talk regularly with your child about their day (both academic and social) and what questions they have about the middle school setting.
Check your core area teacher’s agenda (usually linked to their email). This is a great way to stay up to date on what is going on instructionally in the classroom.
Come to Open House and/or Open School days (more info below) and walk with your child through their day. This is a great way to help your 6th grader build confidence! You will also be able to form connections with teachers right away.
Reach out to me, Jenna Rosienski (Principal) jenna.rosienski@franklin.k12.wi.us, Jordan Stephans (Associate Principal) jordan.stephans@franklin.k12.wi.us, or John Brandes (Associate Principal) john.brandes@franklin.k12.wi.us. We are here to help you and your child find success here at Forest Park!
~Ms. Rosienski

Forest Park Athletics & Activities Update
Registration for Forest Park's athletic teams is now open online!
If your student is interested in joining one of our athletic teams, parents must upload a current/valid physical form when registering the student online. THIS form must be completed and signed by both the doctor that completed the student's most recent physical exam as well as by the parent. Any student that does not have a current/valid physical form uploaded with their registration will not be able to participate in athletics at Forest Park Middle School. We do not accept paper copies of the physical form in the office; physical forms must be uploaded with the online registration.
If your child is interested in participating in cross country, girls basketball, poms, or cheerleading, please make sure to get them registered and upload a current/valid physical form as soon as possible as these sports start soon! Practices/ tryouts for these sports will begin on September 6 and athletes will not be able to participate if they do not have a current/valid physical form uploaded with their registration.

Open School Days: Monday August 22nd & Monday August 29th
Open School Days offer a relaxed format for families to visit Forest Park to walk their student’s schedule, practice opening lockers and stop in the office to pay student fees, ask questions, etc. We highly encourage taking advantage of this opportunity!
**Please note, teachers will not be in the building on these dates and we require any visiting student to be accompanied by an adult.
Join us on Mon 8/22 or Mon 8/29 any time between 8am-4pm!
Student Schedules - coming August 22nd!
We are almost done finalizing our student schedules!
You will receive an email from the district letting you know when student schedules are ready to be viewed in PowerSchool. We are hoping this will be on or around August 22nd. Please remember that if you look in PowerSchool now and see classes listed that these could change slightly while this process is completed. Likewise, if you look in PowerSchool and don't see any classes listed this is only an error that will be fixed once schedules are complete.
Thank you so much for your patience!
