Dear parents,
It is time again to prepare for the Arco Iris race! The race is on Sunday, April 24. As a brief reminder, the Arco Iris race raises money for the UNOP Hospital here in Guatemala that provides free cancer treatment to children. Colegio Interamericano has been supporting this cause for seven years now and has been the top school for donations every year! We are so blessed to have such a supportive community. Students will sell tickets for the race Monday, March 14th until Friday, April 15th. Just like last year, tickets will be 80Q. If someone does not want to buy a ticket, they can always make a donation to the cause. Every little bit helps! We prefer cash, but checks will be accepted. All checks must have a phone number on it to be accepted. Thank you so much for all of your continued support!
This week in Singapore Math!
Please review the Smarty Pants review. The Math Exam will be on Monday, March 7th. The rest of the week students will be reviewing multiplication and division strategies. Also, students will be reviewing word problem solving strategies.

We will also review Draw Conclusions. For grammar, students will learn prefixes non-,in-, dis-, re-, and pre-. The vocabulary for this week includes challenge, pressure, immense, occupation and astronaut.
*RAZ-KIDS!
Please make sure your child is reading each night, listening to the stories, and taking the quizzes. Reading for 20 minutes each night is one of the best ways for your child to become a better reader. Third Grade is tracking the number of books read in order for the class to earn incentives, such as a popcorn party! Thank you for your help with this!
This week in Social Studies!
Students will create a product of their own to "sell" to their classmates, and will write a How-To to explain how to make their product. They will market and sell their products to their class.
Please review the Social Studies Exam review. The Social Studies Exam will be Friday, March 11th.
This week in Science!
Students have chosen a communicable disease or health hazard to research. This week, students will orally present their written and graphic information about this topic.
