SHOPPING ANGELS: Shop for Good

Encourage Give Build

Why Shopping Angels?

Having healthy, nutritious and well-balanced meals means parents can focus on parenting their kids. Children no longer have to worry about their next meal, enabling them to devote their energies to school work.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone above 18 is welcome. Students who are 16 or 17 may volunteer to fulfill Values in Action (VIA) / Community Involvement Program (CIP) / National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) requirements. In the interests of well-being and safety, only vaccinated individuals can volunteer (at least one dose).

Who are the beneficiaries?

Beneficiaries are residents living in rental flats at Tampines /Pasir Ris /Woodlands /Jurong /Choa Chu Kang and/or are holders of CHAS card (BLUE), Public Assistance (PA) card or equivalent. For more information, please see Eligibility and Application (chas.sg).

How does it work?

Volunteers will receive a shopping list from one family. They will pick items from the list from supermarkets or online platforms. They can either deliver these items directly to the family or have us deliver it for you.

How often do I need to volunteer?

We appreciate volunteers who are able to do it on a quarterly basis or more i.e. 4 times a year so that they can build a relationship with these students/families. However, if volunteers can only do it on an ad-hoc basis, that is also fine.

What kind of items should I be getting?

Essential items such as rice, oil, diapers, milk powder etc. Do be aware of the expiry date of perishables such as bread and fruit and deliver them as soon as possible.

Academic Tutoring:

It depends on the availability of both the tutor and tutee.

About us

EVN is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping social service organizations make a greater impact with their beneficiaries through strategic partnerships, research applications and applied learning paradigms. In the age of disruption and information, we believe in nurturing future leaders and influencers who will see beyond their textbooks, be equipped to handle real-world challenges and find their niche in the community. With the rising threat of terrorism and geopolitical tensions, we see the increasing importance of within and cross-community linkages so that as a society, we can move forward together.
