Service Opportunities for Teens

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why We Volunteer

Helping people in need has always been seen as a behavior that is admired. But it turns out, in addition to the impact people can make in the community, volunteering improves happiness and health. We here at You Matter Youth have researched the benefits of volunteering in youth, and children and teens who volunteer are more likely to volunteer as adults. We decided to create a movement that encourages students to volunteer in their own community. Today's youth is a generation is a generation that matters!

Join the group that shows teens can make a difference

When was the last time you did something for someone in need? We here at You Matter Youth provide ideas and opportunities in your own community. What are you passionate about? Health? Animals? Safety? Kids? The environment? Equality? We can find a place for you to serve that fits with who you are and who you are passionate about helping.

Where Do I Start?

  • Start by looking at your interests. What do you like to do? What bothers you?
  • Figure out when the best times for you to serve are. What is your schedule?
  • Then look at opportunities around you. Where can you serve?
