What's New in Kindergarten! Week 6

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Conferences - Monday, October 12th

It is that time of year for us to share your child’s beginning of year testing in kindergarten! We will share his/her current MAP scores, TPRI scores, and his/her classroom progress with you using the “Portfolio Progress” form from the district. We are going to focus on testing and ideas for activities you can do at home. We have some phenomenal ideas and resources that will help guide you through the school year.

You will be getting a note in your child's folder this coming Monday with the time of your conference that will take place on Monday, October 12th, which is our designated conference day.

Donations Needed!

Board Games and Building Toys

If you have any board games or building toys (Lincoln Logs, Duplo blocks, Legos, etc) that you are willing to donate to Kindergarten, we would love to have them to use in our Large Centers.

Book Fair

Book Fair is Next Week!

The Scholastic Book Fair is in the Miller Elementary library next week! We will make 2 class visits during the school day - one early in the week (Monday or Tuesday) to make our Wish Lists and one later in the week to browse/buy. The Book Fair is open from 7:30-3:30 everyday with evening hours on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 PM. We will not be returning any library books next week...please hold onto them for an extra week.

The theme for the fair this fall is Monsters. In library this week, Mrs. Smith guided all of the Kindergartners in making an origami monster bookmark. Please click on the button below for the link to the video instruction they utilized.
