The AR AIMS After Hours Discussion Forum begins this November!
Last year we began a tradition I hope to continue into upcoming years, our AR AIMS After Hours Discussion Forum! These are monthly discussion forums in the evening that cover topics for all teachers or AP only teachers. This November, we will be discussing Math Medic, Stats Medic, and Calc Medic. These sites use the method of Experience First Formalize Later (EFFL) in their lessons. Students work on a self guided lesson to introduce a new topic, then after completion, the teacher leads a discussion to formalize the learning. This is a great way of getting students more engaged and in control of their learning. You don't need to use this method in every class - it is great for introducing new topics in which students already know a lot of the background information needed.
Math-Medic offers resources for Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-calculus. Calc-medic offers resources for AP Calculus AB, and Stats-medic offers materials for AP Statistics.
Join us on November 9th at 5:00pm for our AR AIMS After Hours on Math-Medic! The zoom link is below.

Our Fall Workshop was a Success! Next, Our Spring Mock Reading Workshop April 7th and 8th.
I will be offering recordings and resources via a Google Site for those who have attended, this information will go out next week. You will be required to sign a Google Site Security Agreement before you receive access to the materials, so please keep an eye out for my email. Our Spring Mock Reading Workshop will be held April 7th and 8th at the Plaza Hotel Little Rock (formerly the Crowne Plaza). For our AP Math Mock Reading, we will be using the 2018 Secure Multiple Choice and the 2018 Secure Free Response. I will add those to the google sites soon.
