What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
I hope you had a great weekend. Last week at the Luce was focused on completing the math MCAS for students in grades 3-5. The Spring STAR assessment window is now open until May 27th.
Science MCAS Update
Due to a high level of staff absences due to a rise in Covid at the Luce, we are postponing Session 1 of the science MCAS scheduled for Monday, May 16th, for all fifth-grade students. As a result, we will have Session 1 on Wednesday, May 18th, and Session 2 on Thursday, May 19th. Makeup sessions will occur from Friday, May 20th, through Friday, May 27th.
As a reminder, please continue to test your child if they present with any symptoms. Covid is still with us, and we have to ensure that we continue our mitigation strategies to keep Covid in check.
We got this!
Please read this week's Smore for essential updates.

Substitutes Needed (Repost)
Do you have a college-age child coming home for winter break? If so, would they be interested in subbing for the Canton Public Schools while they are here? Subbing is a great way to keep busy, make money and get real-world work experience. In Canton, we have had great success bringing our own, former students back to help support our students and schools during this busy time year. If your child is interested, please have them fill out this sub application packet and email it to Kim Eardley (eardleyk@cantonma.org) to get the process started. If they fill it out before they get home, the process can begin asap!
Students in their first year of college are able to sub at the elementary and preschool levels only.
Students in their second year or beyond can sub at all school levels.
