Principal Bio
Joseph is a servant leader that utilizes best practices in neuroeducation and 21st century global competence (skills/qualities) to coach educators and facilitate trainings and exemplar lessons for educators, students, and families. He has always been active in the Catholic church (ex. CCD teacher). He is proud to serve the Faith development and Academic preparation of Sacred Heart Catholic School students.
Joseph began his educational career as a Troops to Teacher, mentor, and department head. Mr. Olan then transitioned into various roles such as academic coach, academic dean, intern-superintendent, and international presenter. Mr. Olan was selected Teacher of the Year at two different campuses when he taught in Houston, Texas.
He is also a recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching award 2014-2015 (U.S. Department of State). He spent five months in the Republic of Singapore collaborating, facilitating presentations, and giving exemplar lessons. He has also been a guest panelist/presenter at two regional Global Teaching dialogues (Houston, TX (2020), Columbia, SC. 2018) and the Global Teaching dialogue in Washington D.C (2019). These were sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
