What is it??!!
Obsessive- Compulsive Disorder is a mental illness or anxiety that causes obsessive behaviors.
Signs & Symptoms
Someone with obsessive compulsive disorder may worry about thing being ´in order' or things being ´just right´. Or as some may say an ¨obsession with perfection¨. They may have strange ritual such as urge to repeat something until it is correct. Most have problems with germs or compulsion (harmful or dangerous objects).
THING TO LOOK OUT FOR:
Fear of dirt or contamination by germs
Fear of causing harm to another
Fear of making a mistake
Fear of being embarrassed or behaving in a socially unacceptable manner
Fear of thinking evil or sinful thoughts
Need for order, symmetry, or exactness
Excessive doubt and the need for constant reassurance
How does it effect someone?
Someone may become obsessed and have certain anxtieties that others may do and it´ll cause them to have panic attacks.
Common Names
The only common name for this illness is OCD.
How is this dignosed?
Someone at a young age may begin to show obsessive behaviors. A doctor will give a series of test to show patients of patient.
How is it treated?
Someone could take Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or CBT, this helps rid of any ritual thoughts.
