Six Weeks Reflections
Report cards went home on Fri., Nov. 18, so again, please take a look at them and have conversations with your children to see what feedback they give you regarding their classes and grades. Remember, check in with them to see what support you can provide at home to help them be successful in and out of the classroom.
We just had our Academic Family Night, and it was definitely a success. It was nice to see our families enjoying the evening and seeing the different activities our teachers set up. This is the type of learning happening in our classrooms, so it was great to show it off.
We had a lot of celebrations this past six weeks which included our successful football and volleyball teams, as well as our fine arts students who participated in region auditions. We received the Spurs Give Back Team Grant that will be used towards implementing a recycling program, as well as building animal habitats, we increased our PTA membership and finally set a date to start our Watch D.O.G.S. program, and we are celebrating our students again who received no referrals the 2nd six weeks. It's been a fun and fast period, and we are definitely looking forward to the exciting things that are scheduled for the 3rd six weeks.
Again, please remember to read our PTA newsletter. Our PTA board continues to work hard to get parents involved, so we can all be partners in our children's education. Any help you can provide this year is greatly appreciated.
Finally, I'd like to thank you all for helping us have a smooth 13 weeks of school. Our students are amazing and are making us proud in everything they do. They are working hard in their classes, and they are showing signs of pride in our campus. Please continue to encourage them to be respectful and to make good choices every day because we want them growing academically, as well as socially.
As you get ready for the holidays, please make plans to spend time with your children and have conversations about their academic goals, as well as their interests. Spend a day away from technology and enjoy the season looking at the beautiful lights in our city, providing community service, and finding great ways to spend time together as a family.
Happy Holidays!

Administrators' Corner
- Again, please remember student attendance is extremely important, so when your child is absent, please make sure to turn in an excuse to the attendance office or any administrator.
Marshall field trip is scheduled for Thurs., 12/1 for 8th graders attending Marshall. Please make sure permission slips have been turned in.
Remind your children to do their best to keep our campus clean by picking up after themselves during breakfast and lunch, and picking up litter when they see it.
You are always welcome to bring lunch for your child. However, you will need to get off the car and bring it to the front office. It is a safety concern when parents text/call students on their cell phone to meet them at the car to get their lunch. There is no one supervising the front of the school during lunch times, so it is crucial you follow the campus procedures. Also, you can only bring lunch for your child due to possible food allergies.
