Ms. Baucom's 4th Grade Class
Thank you so much for the book purchases from the scholastic fair and for all the support of texts for this Greek Unit. Your children will begin Guided and Independent Reading of the texts this week. Over the past month our students have been competing in the MATH CUP through www.thinkthroughmath.com and we will find out results on Monday.
This week we continue our Greek Myth Unit of study with ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We are integrating this unit of study with all subject areas. Please visit the below site to help us with resources www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0F4FACA62DA6FD0-greek.
Students will be evaluated by rubric based on fluency and oral presentations of team Greek myths play performance.
*NWEA Assessments: Monday, December 15th at 8:30 AM. (please arrive to school by 7:45 am)..
*Common Assessments: Your child will be re-taught and reassessed during this quarter to Show Mastery or improve their Math or ELA strands for final report card data! This model follows the CSUSA educational philosophy of Data Driven Instructional Plan.
Our specials are on a four day rotation. This week's schedule is as follows:
Friday- No specials- Polar Express movie
We will be having a class celebration on Friday at 9:00. Please sign up for supplies/donations and let us know if you will be attending! Thank you to Brooke Black for organizing and all parents who have already signed up to help!
On Friday at 12:45, students will be watching the Polar Express movie in the gym. Students are invited to wear festive socks (with regular shoes in compliance with the dress code).
I hope each of you has a wonderful break with family and friends.
We will continue the study of metric and customary measurement conversion, and begin elapsed time.
In guided reading we will be starting our leveled novels related to Greek mythology, and continue working on our Greek plays with a performance this week.
Cardinal students will be enjoying this movie on Friday!
