Smile at a child
Say positive things to a child
Repeat or expand a child’s words or sounds
Wait for a child’s response after making a suggestion
Respond to a child’s emotions
Reply to a child’s words or sounds
Show enthusiasm about what a child does
Label objects or actions for a child
