Traveling Holiday Wreath
The fun folks at central administration started a new tradition to spread holiday cheer throughout the district. We sent around a beautiful holiday wreath for all to enjoy. The task was to take a photo with the wreath and spread the cheer to someone else. We started this a little late, so the wreath didn't have time to travel everywhere. We will get it out earlier next year. Thanks to all who participated for having some fun with us!
Archery Unit at Sproul Junior High
P.E. just got a little more exciting thanks to a grant at Sproul Junior High.
There's an archery unit that teaches students how to safely and properly shoot a bow and arrow. Eighth grade students Weston Villers and Dominick Zorens tied for first place. Look at those bullseyes!
PJ Collection at Webster Elementary
Mrs. Borck's 5th grade class collected pajamas for Special Kids, Special Families, a Colorado non-profit that provides care for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. The representative spoke to the class about the organization and thanked them for their kind donation.
2017 Toy Drive
The WSD3 Toy Drive was a huge success this year! The schools, district buildings, Security Public Library, and the Fountain Valley Senior Center donated countless toys and more than $1,700 in donations for the Security Fire Department family outreach. A BIG thank you to the Positive Action Team (PAT) for their hard work and continued support for our community.
The Polar Express Tradition Continues!
Carlos Lopez, Coordinator of Education Technology, continued his tradition of dressing up like Santa and rolling his Polar Express Train full of snacks and goodies through district offices. Santa and his wonderful helper, Davina, spread holiday cheer through SA Wilson and Central Administration today. "This is how we slay," said Santa.
