Sports Update!
Congratulations to the Boy's Basketball and Girl's Soccer teams! Both teams played hard during the first away game of the season. Boys' basketball won 38-32 during overtime in a real nail-biter! Girls' soccer won 6-2! Both teams are currently tied for 1st place with Rosemont.
Invention Convention
It’s that time again! This year, the Invention Convention will occur on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Glendale High School Cafeteria. The ceremony will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
The prompt for this year’s competition is:
Imagine a world where everyday problems are transformed into opportunities for innovation. Your challenge is to identify a problem that you encounter in your daily life, school, community, or the broader world, and invent a creative solution that addresses it. Your invention should be practical, user-friendly, original, and genuinely useful.
Invention Convention is open to all Wilson students.
Mr. Peterson is our Invention Convention advisor. Interested students can go and see Mr. Peterson in Room 2109.

Mindfulness Moment
In the month of October we are learning about grounding techniques. Last week we learned about the 5-4-3-2-1 Method and this week we are trying out A-B-C Around the room.
This exercise will get you connected with where you are at the current moment. Look around the room and name something you see that starts with A, then B, then C and so forth. See how far you can get through the alphabet and then check-in with yourself to see how you feel once you reach the end.
Chromebook Tip of the Week!
Is your Chromebook charged but won't turn on? Before you go to the library, try holding the power button and the escape key for 10 seconds or until the blue light turns off. Then try turning the Chromebook back on and that should reset it.
Visit the Wilson Student Help Corner Website where you can find video tutorials answering your frequently asked questions about apps used in your classrooms. We also have tutorials in Armenian and Spanish.

Digital Citizenship Tip of the Week!
"Drama" is a term that is used to describe when young people get into arguments with friends or other people they know. It can get serious online and can sometimes turn into cyberbullying. If this happens you should always tell an adult, take a few minutes to "cool down" before replying, and remind yourself that it's easy to misunderstand what people mean online because we don't see or hear a lot of the things that tell us how someone is feeling, like their facial expression or tone of voice. You should also assume the best about people, instead of thinking right away that they meant to be mean to you and talk to them face to face.
