The Work Readiness Academy
June 2023 Newsletter
Director's Message
I hope your summer is off to a good start! It was so nice to see so many of our parents and families at our end of year recognition ceremony last week. Congratulations to our graduates!
Please enjoy our last official Newsletter of the 2022-23 school year which includes highlights from the month of June at the Work Readiness Academy.
The Work Readiness Academy is dedicated to providing your child with an excellent educational experience. In order to ensure our school is meeting your needs and to identify areas where we could potentially address unmet needs, we have developed a feedback survey. We would greatly appreciate you taking 10-15 minutes of your time to provide us with your valuable insights. Your input will be vital as we ensure that we continue to provide the services that make us strong and work to improve in areas that need our attention.
Thank you to those who have already completed the survey. If you have not yet done so, you can access the survey at the following link:

Thank you for trusting us with your child's education!
Sincerely,
Josh Bornstein

June Spotlights
WRA Student of the Month Our Student of the Month for June is Cole Perillo! Staff describe Cole as friendly & creative. He is also a serious movie fan who always keeps our community up to date as to when the newest movies will be released in the theater or on streaming platforms. We are recognizing Cole this month for the progress he is making towards improving his ability to join others in conversations and social situations. Congratulations Cole & best of luck next year at Project SEARCH! | Staff SpotlightName: Adrian Seale Position: WRA Custodian & UCESC Repairman Years with UCESC: This is Adrian's 7th year with the Commission! Interests/Hobbies: Repairing homes Quote to Live By: "There is only one way to do things - and that is the right way!" Something Most People Wouldn't Know About Me: I am a gentle soul. Thank you Adrian for keeping our building clean & safe each day! | Community Business Partner Spotlight This month we spotlight Sweet n' Fancy Emporium. For more than 30 years ago, Sweet n' Fancy Emporium based in downtown Cranford has been providing bakers with hundreds of baking, cake decorating products, and candy-making supplies! Amanda Girardi, who took over as the new owner in 2021, has been an incredible partner to the Work Readiness Academy. Amanda and her team at Sweet n' Fancy have not only hosted several students for Work-Based Learning experiences, but they have also generously donated sweet treats for our annual student holiday party and graduation ceremony! Our students also collaborated with Amanda to design their entry into this year's Scarecrow Stroll. Thank you Amanda and team! |
