Sandalwood Elementary Newsletter
May 2022
From the Principal's Desk
Happy May! This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are going to celebrate all of our staff members here at Sandalwood to show them our appreciation for their dedication to our students and community. Please take a moment to have your child write a special thank you note or write a note yourself to show our staff how much they are appreciated. This will be the first time in three years that we will have an in person fifth grade farewell celebration. We will celebrate our fifth graders on Friday, June 10th beginning at 10:00am. Each fifth grade student will receive three tickets for parents and families to attend our celebration. A letter will be sent home this week with all fifth grade students.
· It seems as if the weather is cooperating and we have made it to spring! We are in the midst of MCAP and MAP testing. Both assessments provide our school with valuable data. Individual MCAP results will be available in July. Students in grades K-2nd will take MAP and those results will be available in June.
· Please remember that school begins at 8:30 a.m. As the weather becomes nicer, we have more students arriving to school early. Please do not allow students to come to school early as we do not have adult supervision until 8:30 a.m.
