Crenshaw Families and Parents,
I am proud to report our Book Fair was a BIG success. Thanks to some amazing parent volunteers and everyone who took the time to set an appointment, we were able to offer Face to Face shopping AND keep the library occupancy at a same number.
Believe it or not, we have 7 weeks until Christmas Vacation and 4 weeks until Thanksgiving break. These next few weeks are filled with important academic activites and quite a few special events.
Stay connected through the Cub Connection, CVISD website, and school status calls and texts from the teachers so you don't miss a thing. Here's a quick rundown:

Tuesday – “Team Up Against Drugs” – Wear your favorite team shirt.
Wednesday – “Be An Influencer! Say No to Drugs” – Wear college/university t-shirt or sweatshirt
Thursday – “Spot Me Being Drug Free”- Wear Polka Dots.
Friday – “Our Dreams Are Too Big for Drugs” - Wear pajamas.

GRADE LEVEL NEWS
KINDERGARTEN
Please help your kindergarten student work on letters and sounds at home. This is a critical skill they must master before they can become readers

FIRST GRADE
First grade teachers will do a checkpoint assessment on their students this week. This will give us information on skills they have mastered and progress they have made. It will also let us know areas of concern that may need additional practice. Please make sure your students are present all day every day this week.

SECOND GRADE
Please make sure your child practices his math facts every day. Being able to recall addition and subtraction facts quickly will make it easier for your child to master other skills.

THIRD GRADE
Yay! 3rd Will participate in the science fair this your. Additional information to come regarding the science fair. Students please continue to practice addition and subtraction to build math fluency. Read a book for 20 minutes daily..

FOURTH GRADE
Fourth grade students are learning about the writing process. We are also using Xtra math in the classroom. Students may use Xtra math at home. We asked that you help your child study multiplication facts. Also a reminder we are using the agendas to write down what they will be doing for homework. Homework is given Monday-Thursday. We also encourage reading at home. Students use the accelerated reading and MyOn in class, which they read books and earn points. Thank you parents for all your support!

FIFTH GRADE
Students will be starting to check out library books soon. please watch for the library contract to come home. Please read carefully before signing and returning. We have added some steps to help our students become more responsible patrons of the school library.
