Room 15 @CPS
Welcome to Mrs. Lombardi's English!
Bio.
We are embarking on a totally awesome year! I am celebrating my 11th School New Year this September and couldn't be more excited about it. I grew up here on Nantucket and played sports throughout my high school and college career. I have three children, who keep me very busy. My eldest, Maddie is going into 3rd grade, my son Burke is starting Kindergarten and I have a two-year old little monster Aubrey who is a lot of fun to be around. My husband is Mr. Lombardi, and works in the athletic office. He is a coach for the Varsity Football team this year. I grew up in the restaurant business and have a love for cooking at home. This fall, I have also gone back to school to get my Masters Degree in Education from Lesley University. I have a true passion for life long learning and love to have fun.

Each year I always look forward to the opportunity to reflect on the past year and make a plan on what I am going to do differently and what I can tweak to make it even better for the next year. As you all know, this year CPS is going 1 to 1, which is very exciting, and in many ways we will all be learning from each other throughout the year. We will be starting our year getting to know an application called 'Seesaw', which will allow for students to keep an online portfolio of their work in kind of a blog-like format. We will also be jumping into a classic short story unit this fall, where we will focus our classroom reading on short stories, with titles like "Rikki-tikki-tavi", "Three Skeleton Key', "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" as well as my favorite unit on Edgar Allan Poe!
It's an exciting time of year. A time to set goals (short term and long) for the school year, both in and outside of the classroom. It is a time to start fresh and set up some routine.
One of my priorities each year is to getting to know all my students, as well as develop a safe and engaging learning environment. I have an open door policy and look forward to getting to know all of you.
