Incoming Freshman Parent Night
Freshman Parent night will be held VIRTUALLY on January 18 at 6:30 pm. This is for parents of current 8th graders who will attend LHS in the fall. Click Here for the link to join the Zoom call.
Course Selection Q&A
Course Selection for the 2022-2023 school year is underway! Counselors will host a virtual Q&A session on January 20 between 3 and 6 pm. You will be able to sign up for a five minute timeslot. Link is coming soon!
LPS Community Scholarship Program
The Liberty Community Scholarship Program opens THIS Wednesday, December 1st. It is made up of scholarships given through the generosity of 30+ local organizations. All seniors from LHS and LNHS are eligible to apply; all organizations accept the same application! Each scholarship will be awarded to seniors from LHS and/or LNHS. Over $86,000 and 73 awards were given last May. The submission deadline is 4pm on February 4, 2022. See the Counseling Website on December 1st for how to apply! Best of luck, Blue Jays!
Local Scholarships Available
Local Scholarships continue to come in! Check your Naviance Account under the College Tab to review the Scholarship List and see if there are any you could qualify for. This is a great project for Winter Break!
KC SCHOLARS
KC Scholars is excited to share a great scholarship opportunity for current 9th and 11th graders as well as adults looking to return to college to complete their degree. The KC Scholars scholarship application opened on January 1, 2021 and the deadline to apply is February 25, 2021. There are 3 scholarships to select from.
1. Traditional Scholarship – For current 11th graders – students awarded a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to 5 years.
2. College Savings Account/Match – For current 9th graders – students awarded with a College Savings account and additional incentive funds.
3. Adult Learner Scholarship – For adults with some college but no degree selected to receive up to a $5,000 scholarship renewable for up to 5 years.

Off Campus Opportunities Night
On January 12th from 6pm to 8pm LPS will be hosting a virtual "Off Campus Opportunities Night" where students and parents can learn about off campus programs including career centers (Area Career Center & Northland Career Center), NCAPS, Early College Academy, EIP (Education Internship Program) and Network 53. Missouri Leadership Seminar 10th graders
The MLS will be held June 3-5 on the University of Central Missouri Campus. This leadership seminar is for current sophomores interested in discovering their leadership potential. Interested students need to apply. Students can learn about the MLS via their website HERE. Interested students may fill out an application HERE and submit to the counseling office by March 1st.
Future Friday Career Series
Need help exploring careers? The Future Friday Career Series will feature guest professionals across multiple industries to share about their experiences. Both high school campuses will be invited to attend and the location will rotate throughout the year. Times will be 9:00-10:20am. Make sure to sign up at least a week in advance to secure a spot. The deadline to register for this event is Jan. 28th. Click here to register now! Our next event will be focused on Arts & Communication Feb 4th @ LHS.
Missouri Fine Arts Academy
Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Class of the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. All interested Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors should apply online in one of the following areas: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Vocal Music. The Missouri Fine Arts Academy is a two-week residential interdisciplinary arts academy that runs June 12-25, 2022 on the Missouri State University campus in Springfield, Missouri.
