What We are Learning
Under Construction Week 2 - Transportation
Dear Families,
This week, children will learn about many types of transportation used all around the world that take people from one location to another. They will learn that types of transportation can be categorized into three groups: land, air, and water.
This week’s Family Connections activities can be found at:
https://portal2.frogstreet.com/wp-content/uploads/prek2/familyconn/ENG-FC-T6-W2.pdf
This week’s storybook, “How Do We Get There?” can be found at: https://portal2.frogstreet.com/ebook/?bookname=FS20076_HowDoWeGetThere_eBook.
We’re so excited to continue learning with your little one!
Sincerely,
MREC PreK
Your child may come home with a Notice of Immunization Non-Compliance letter in their red folder. If you receive this letter, it is because the school is missing documentation of immunizations required for kindergarten. If your child has already received immunizations at their 4 year well child visit, please provide documentation to the school. If your child has not yet received these immunizations, please make arrangements to have them completed as soon as possible. Immunization documents may be dropped off at the school or emailed to the school nurse at ashleyjohnson@melissaisd.org.
Building Character
PurposeFull Pursuit:
Review Perseverance as a family! Remember that Perseverance is pushing yourself to work through challenges and obstacles.
Here’s a fun challenge: Can you fit your whole body through an index card?
While it sounds impossible, with the correct folding and cutting technique, you can make it happen! Give each family member a 4x6 index card and a pair of scissors. Ready for the answer? You can find the directions and solution online by searching: “Fit Your Body Through an Index Card.”
Conversation Starters:
- How do you know if you are showing Perseverance?
- Can you share a time this week when you were able to Persevere?
