The Mustang Round Up
April 9, 2023
Welcome Back from Spring Break!
Good Evening Mustang Families,
I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing spring break. We want to wish our families a happy Passover and wonderful Easter this weekend.
The Marshall campus was quite busy during the break as local police departments used Marshall Middle for training all week. Agencies including SD School Police and San Diego PD were present for training by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Officers trained on tactical medic response and application, armed intruder response, and active shooter response. They worked on numerous scenarios that included props and role players from the community. Even though the training was not for Marshall staff, we are proud to be able to support any opportunity for our officers to get the most up-to-date training and practice in case of an active threat. It also helps the actual officers who would respond to our school get to know our facilities so well.
Lastly, this upcoming week is the last chance to sign students up for Summer School. As a reminder, Marshall will not be a host site this summer, but classes will be held at Challenger Middle in Mira Mesa. The district office has sent emails to families about the summer experience and how to sign up. you can find the most recent communications here.
Have a great week!

Find Your Passion- SRHS Students Visit MMS This Week
On April 13th, Marshall Middle School and Scripps Ranch are teaming up to put on the Find Your Passion event again. Like last year, Scripps Ranch High School student volunteers are excited to come to Marshall Middle School to help students find and develop a career passion that speaks to them. A team of Scripps Ranch High school students developed and will put out a presentation describing the events and the tremendous benefits that come when finding your passion. To further help the students explore potential future career interests, 22 Scripps Ranch High School clubs will set up stations around the school during lunchtime to showcase their club activities, and talk with the students about exciting ways they can get involved. This event, designed to help students find their career passion, will also help connect Marshall Middle School students to their future high school, clubs, and Scripps Ranch classmates. Learn more by watching this promo video from SRHS.

There are 2 routes that pickup/dropoff at Dingeman Elementary, 1 route at EBS Elementary, and 1 route off of Swan Lake in the Scripps Highlands neighborhood.
