Summer Reading at the Public Library
Stef Blankenship from the Oak Lawn Branch of the Cranston Public Library visited our school this month to share details on this year's Summer Reading Program, which has the same theme as Reading Week: "Build a Better World."
I can't recommend the Summer Reading Program enough ... lots of fun events, a wide range of activities, prizes, and AIR CONDITIONING. A nice component of the program this year is that for every completed reading record received, $1 or one book will be donated to Books Are Wings.
Registration opens on Thursday, June 22 (the last day of school). This year, you can even register online.
Your student should have brought home a brochure with a list of programs. You can also get more information at the Cranston Public Library site.
