Spot Light on Vaping
Here is some information for Students to be aware of the harmful effects of Vaping
Vaping refers to inhaling aerosol (vapor +chemicals) from electronic cigarettes or other vaping devices
There is really is no way to know what's really in e-cigarettes. That is why they are so dangerous.
Over 3 million teens are current users of e-cigarettes
Most teens know that cigarettes are gross and can kill but they think vaping is relatively harmless
Is nicotine dangerous? YES
Nicotine is a neurotoxin. It is as addictive as heroin. it is particularly dangerous to teens because thier brains are still developing
When you inhale nicotine vapor, it enters your brain in 8-10 seconds and gives you an immediate high, elevates blood pressure increases heart rate.
Will I get addicted? YES
Nicotine addiction is very hard to quit and causes serious withdrawal symptoms: Fatigue, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, irritability
