Oak Hills Newsletter
February 19, 2021
Dear Oak Hills Families,
I hope you enjoyed playing in the snow with your children last weekend. Mrs. Seitz who lives in the Oak Hills neighborhood reported that there were many Oak Hills families enjoying sledding in the school vicinity. How fun!! I hope electricity was restored to your house quickly if you were one of the many households that lost power. I realize that many families and staff members had to get quite creative with ways to stay warm during this snow storm. Anyway, I am happy that things are back to normal and our students are back on CDL again.
The Hybird/ CDL survey results are in. Please know that we contacted all families that hadn't committed by Wednesday. This included phone calls by our Multi-lingual Department to families who need interpreters. Here are our school-wide Hybrid/CDL survey results as of 4pm on Thursday afternoon:
- 43.15% have chosen CDL
- 56.85% have chosen Hybrid (In-Person)
Now that we have our numbers, Erika and I will start working on class configurations. We will need to determine how many CDL and how many Hybrid classes we will have by grade level. For the AM or PM cohorts, we also have many things to consider such as making sure siblings and students receiving ESL, Resource, and Reading Intervention requiring live zoom lessons are in the same AM or PM cohort . Hopefully, we will be able to let you know teacher assignment and if your student is in the AM or PM cohort in a few weeks. Thank you for your patience through this process.
On a final note, if you know of a new family registering for Oak Hills for the 2021-22 school year, please invite them to our New Family Q & A on February 25 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Incoming Kindergarten families are welcome as well. Here is the Join Zoom Meeting information:
