National Housing Act (1949)
After the "White Flight" the inner cities were left poor, run-down, and in need of serious repair. The National Housing Act of 1949 tore down the rundown, inner-city neighborhoods and reconstructed low-income housing. It led to new cabinet position of Housing and Urban Design to improve conditions in the inner-city.
Termination Policy
The Termination Policy eliminated government support of Native Americans. Ended support of reservation system. Began to relocate Natives to cities, but they were unable to find work there because there were strong anti-native american prejudices. They were left with no land and no money.
