District News
Text Notifications Coming in Mid-November. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, we will send our first and only district-wide text message.* (*Future text messages will be sent only to those who have not opted out.) FCC regulations typically do not allow any texts to be sent without prior authorization, but there is a special exception for schools that interprets the initial provision of phone numbers to be consent for one text. That text will provide the opportunity to text back “Stop” if people do not wish to receive future text messages. They can also text “Start” to 60680 at any time to opt into text messages; however, the number must be one that is currently in our student information or iVisions system (for staff). If you are having difficulty, please have login to your ParentVUE or iVisions account to make sure we have their current phone number and that it is categorized as “mobile.”
Hillsboro Schools Summit. Parents and community members are invited to attend our Fall Hillsboro Schools Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in AC100. This summit will focus on the development and expansion of our Career and College Pathways, specifically how we are preparing middle school students for high school opportunities; how we fund our work through M98, Perkins grants and the bond; what the SSA means for this work, and more. Attendees are welcome to stay for the CCP Steering Committee Meeting, if they would like. That meeting is from 8:45-11:30am. Both events are free and continental breakfast will be served.
Hillsboro Police Shred It Event. Get your confidential documents shredded on-site at a free community event hosted by the Hillsboro Police Department from 8 a.m. to noon (or until trucks are full) on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Hillsboro School District Administration Center, 3083 NE 49th Pl. There is a three-banker box-size limit of paper items ONLY. Any monetary donations collected will benefit HSF.
