Meal Challenge!
Hello families!
Crestview is participating in the Family Mealtime Challenge, developed by the Health and Wellness Collaborative and made possible through the generous support of Allina Health. Extensive research shows that eating family meals together on a regular basis has positive impacts on the well-being of children and adolescents. Regular family meals can boost vocabulary, reduce the risk of substance use, improve mental health for all family members, and strengthen family ties and parent-child communication.
- For two weeks, March 5th-18th work as a family to complete the BINGO box Challenge. Your child will bring home a Conversation Starters jar and a colorful BINGO poster that includes great information about family meals, ideas for picky eaters, and healthy recipes.
- Complete as many bingo boxes as you can while focusing on quality time and quality food at family meals. Do your best and tally up the completed boxes at the end of the week.
- Like the Health and Wellness Collaborative Facebook page. Remember to tag #familymealtimechallenge in your posts to share recipes, tips and advice for your fellow school members.
- Please watch for an email with a survey link at the completion of the challenge and complete it by March 23rdto be eligible for fantastic prizes!
- Materials will be provided in English, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Hmong, and Spanish. If your family would like materials in a language other than English, please email Dawn Blankenship at dblanken@sowashco.org.
Have a great week!
