I had a first grade student tell me she learned a new word in class this week. I asked what word she learned. She smiled and said,"EFFORT"! It put a big smile on my face. Shout Out to First Grade! Thanks for teaching those Word of the Week Lessons!
MATH Problem of the Week

Nuts and Bolts

Nikki and Kim have finished their final interviews for Teacher of the Year! The banquet is April 28th. Everyone received an email invitation. All Certified Staff are free. Since we have two teachers as finalists, any non-certified staff will have their dinner paid for by the school, just stop by and let Heather or Erin know so we can reserve seats for everyone! Let's all show our support for Nikki and Kim!! David is supplying the noise-makers!

SRI testing for the end of the year will be from April 27-May 10. The computer lab will be reserved for SRI only, during those dates. There will also be some mornings during testing the computer lab will be closed. Research assignments using the computer lab will need to be completed before MAP testing begins April 14th, or after May 10th.

May 4th is our last day for testing so iPads will be returned to classrooms as quickly as possible after testing is complete.

May 19th is our last school day. Dismissal is at 12:05. Staff works a full day and may leave at 3:30. May 20th is a day off for all JCPS staff because of the state track meet. There will be no one working in the building including custodians. Please have your student file documentation, completed TST's, Otis-Lennon scores, awards and green literacy cards, completed before May 19th. The afternoon will be hectic with teachers checking out of their classrooms.

There is a Revised MAP Testing schedule. We needed to switch 3rd and 4th grade MAP testing. Make sure you are using the schedule that has REVISED across the top. If you need a copy, let me or Scott know.

We should be completing our final TST meetings. I have a list of all TST files, so I will be touching base with each of you to make sure we have all documents completed and ready for next year's teacher.

I will be sending out the spreadsheets to each grade level to compile next year's class lists. I will have sped students and ELL students listed already with an steric*, so they should not be moved. I will be handing out color coded index cards for each teacher so teams can visually note the student make-up of the new classes. I did not accept any teacher requests from parents this year, only student-separation requests.

Turn in a copy of your mid-terms to me or Scott before you send them home next week.

Clean your projector filters please.

Grades updated each week by Tuesday.
